Introducing Myself and this Blog

Hello there,

My name is Ruxpin, and I reside in the funny city of Nashville, Tennessee. I moved out here from San Francisco, California, where I was born and raised. I wanted to have a bit of an adventure, so here I am in the city that called to me most throughout my travels across the United States.

I am an ordinary girl, and I do ordinary things. I have ordinary tendencies, I make ordinary mistakes, and I struggle with ordinary things. I am a creative person, having dabbled in the music, fashion, and art industries as a means for making a living. Currently, I'm an art teacher, working with several schools in the East Nashville area to ignite passion in students who attend schools with the lowest graduation rates. I love what I do, but like everybody else in the current state of our economy, I struggle with financial security.

As an ordinary twenty-something female, I feel that there are issues specific to our population segment that are rarely discussed in the media, by our friends and families, or in general these days. In this blog, I seek to publish my thoughts on various matters facing our generation of twenty-something women, and to provoke thoughtful conversations about these subjects.

The topics may be broad: whatever comes to me over the course of a week, really. To be more specific about my ideas for this work, I'll seek to discuss the realities, both physical and emotional, surrounding the subjects of sex, health, finance, friendship, emotional issues, responsibility, and loss. Additionally, I'll be sharing some of what I've learned throughout the course of my 23 years of existence. It is my sincere hope that I can put something into the world that will do some good, and prevent other girls who face the same daily joys and struggles from feeling so alone (just as I have).

Kindest Regards,

Ruxpin
